This is the date that the current stamp duty holiday arrangements come to an end. In early July the government announced that until 31st March any primary residence house purchases up to £500,000 would be exempt from stamp duty. This coupled with a housing market that was already bouncing strongly back from lock down has caused a surge in house transactions. This has resulted in some areas of the house buying process taking longer with delays to such things as surveys and mortgage offers. If you are still looking at moving before 31st March 2021 to take advantage of this holiday from stamp duty there is still time. However, you should be thinking about starting the process now!

Our fantastic staff at Aldreds spend an allocated amount of time each day reviewing and progressing the sales that have been agreed but are yet to exchange contracts. This includes talking to solicitors, booking and chasing mortgage surveys and updating clients. This is important to the process and vital to our customers & clients who are always grateful to be kept up to date. It also helps us to see potential issues with sales before they arise and helps to smooth out any problems before they develop. Our fantastic staff and their focused sales progression is one of many reasons why our customers return to Aldreds again and again!
