Following the recent announcement of a national lockdown across the UK, at Aldreds we understand this may be a challenging time for families, as you try to juggle work with home school learning. With this in mind, we thought we would share a few handy hints and tips, as you prepare to assist with your child’s education. Where possible, provide your child with a clear space to work, free from any possible distractions. Ensure your child has the necessary equipment required for school tasks. Where equipment or devices are not available at home; liaise with your child’s school to see what help can be provided. Promote a consistent routine; logging on at the same time each day to learn and sitting in the same space to complete work every day helps children to established a disciplined mindset. Provide positive feedback to your child for each small achievement; encouragement can motivate your child to succeed when they feel deflated. Regular breaks away from the screen are beneficial for your child…and you! Schedule breaks and engage in something you enjoy doing together. Stay in touch with your child’s school. Schools welcome parental engagement, especially positive ones! Also, email your child’s school if you have any concerns; teachers want your children to succeed! Begin and end the day by checking in; ‘What classes do you have today?’ ‘What can I do to help?’ ‘What did you discover today?’ ‘What could we do to make tomorrow even better?’ Be your child’s superhero! Children follow by example. Your child will observe your working practice and will follow your lead. Rules and goal setting for the day will help to set high expectations. Breathe….it will all be ok. Enjoy your time together! Through its membership with Relocation Agent Network, Aldreds has connections with over 600 estate agency offices across England, Scotland and Wales. Estate and letting agents have been encouraged by the government to continue during this lockdown to assist in the vital work of getting people moved. At Aldreds we have put robust measures in place to keep our colleagues and clients safe. In the office our staff are spaced out to allow for social distancing. The office doors are locked and essential customer visits are by appointment only. All staff have face masks and hand sanitiser. None essential communal areas are closed. When we are with clients in their homes or at viewings we will always wear a face mask and we ask that you do the same. We must also maintain a two metre distance. We will sanitise our hands before and after every appointment and we ask that you do the same. Together we can get through this! Lets look forward to an improving 2021.

Following last evening's announcement by the Prime Minister that England will move to a new national lockdown, the government have issued further advice regarding the housing market for those who are looking to move home. The new guidance states: "You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings. Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering." Since the beginning of the pandemic, we at Aldreds have been committed to offering a continued best possible service to our clients whilst doing our upmost to operate as safely as possible and in line with the government guidance. Following this latest news of a new national lockdown, we will continue to monitor the advice given to us and operate as safely as possible for the benefit of our staff, customers and all others that we come into contact with. Responsible behaviour by everyone involved and adherence to safety guidance throughout is more important than ever in these coming weeks ahead. If you are looking to move home in the near future, we would be delighted to hear from you at any of our local Aldreds branches and pleased to offer you the best possible advice and assistance as always!
