Energy performance certificates (EPC’s) were introduced by the government through 2007 within the launch of home information packs (HIPS).

Home information packs were scrapped by the coalition government in 2010, however the EPC stayed a requirement for the vast majority of properties offered for sale and latterly to rent also.

Many EPC’s have been reused, however, as we move into 2017 sellers and landlords will need to bear in mind that they have a validity of 10 years meaning that very early EPC’s will expire and need renewing next year.

At Aldreds we offer residential EPC’s. If you are thinking of selling or renting a property and need more information regarding EPC’s, would like to know if your property has a valid EPC or if you would like a quote get in touch with any of our offices today!
