SELECTIVE LICENSING OF LET PROPERTIES COMING TO THE MAJORITY OF GREAT YARMOUTH! There is a FAQ section which is quite helpful, however, some of the dates wrongly state 2025 and we believe they should be 2026! The scheme starts on 1st April 2026 and runs for five years. According to the website you cannot register until 1st April and the deadline to register is the end of June. The cost of the licence is £694 paid in two parts. Part A £200 and payable at registration and covers the cost of processing the application. Part B £494 is paid before the licence is issued. Some of you may have already had experience of licensing from 2019 to 2024 in Nelson Ward or if you have properties in other areas affected by selective licensing. We will all have our opinions with regards to the motives, but it is important to be prepared for what is to come. At this stage I don’t have any other information other than what is available on the website.
