Stephen Alger
Business Principal
I’ve worked in the financial services industry since leaving university in 2004. I joined Mortgage Advice Bureau in 2008 and became business principle in 2009. Since then, I’ve enjoyed growing our mortgage team from a small local service with a team of three covering one office, to today’s much larger team spread throughout East Anglia. But we’ve still kept the same friendly ethos, making sure our customers get the best possible experience. The best part of my job? It’s a great feeling when you know you’ve helped someone save money, or you help them realise they can afford their dream home.
I enjoy music, reading, food, cinema and a trip to a good pub with friends and family. I’m also a keen sportsman and enjoy playing lots of sport in my spare time, such as football, tennis, golf, squash and cricket (albeit pretty badly these days). I also enjoy cycling and run regularly. I’ve completed the London Marathon four times and have raised over £20,000 for charity.
Stephen Robinson
Mortgage & Protection Adviser (Great Yarmouth)
I joined the team in June 2014, having been in a similar role for the previous 10 years. I offer expert mortgage and protection advice on buying or moving home, remortgaging, investing in a buy-to let property, as well as specialist areas such as offset mortgages and Help to Buy schemes. I’m actually a landlord myself and am passionate about property investment.
Born in Great Yarmouth and married with two teenage boys, I’m a keen squash player and enjoy other activities such as golf, swimming and going on holidays.

I’ve been in financial services for nearly 20 years and have worked as a mortgage adviser for over 10 years, seven of which I’ve been at Mortgage Advice Bureau. My role here is to give advice on mortgages and protection, whether you’re a first time buyer, a home mover or just looking to remortgage your current property. The best part of my job? I love helping people and getting to know them.
I’ve lived in Lowestoft for the majority of my life, so know the area well. I love to go abroad at least once a year, usually somewhere hot and sunny. In my spare time I enjoy eating out at nice restaurants and socialising with friends and family. I also regularly attend the gym with my husband, Mark.
