Research has shown that house buyers spent £9.7Billion moving home in 2017 with the average transaction costing more that £9500.

 

These figures include the obvious costs such as estate agents, solicitors and removal fees. They also include things like stamp duty and surveyors costs which a lot of house movers don’t factor for in their initial plans.

 

London was the most expensive area in which to move with the North East of England being the cheapest.

 

The good news is with the abolition of stamp duty for first time buyers up to £300,000 it should be cheaper for those buying their first house to get on the ladder this year.
